Dai Ichi Spot-Light (Wuta Tsuya)

Dai Ichi Ward Spot-Light on Sister Michi Mano
February 15, 1998

We turn the SPOT-LIGHT upon our Senior Member Sister Michi Morio Mano, who's a shining light to us all.  She was born in Clinton, Utah and later moved to Seattle, Washington.  She went to Japan at a tender age and was educated in Japan as well in the USA.  Returned to the USA prior to World War II.  Married a handsome young man, Mr. Eisaku Mano in Los Angeles.  Their two oldest were born in Los Angeles, California, and Ron was born in Ogden, Utah.  Sharon was born in Coalville, Utah and Richard was born in Salt Lake City, Utah.

While living in Woodscross, Utah they were converted to the Church, first, the children through the LDS Church Primary and later Brother and Sister Mano through the STake Missionaries.  Their three sons served their missions in Japan and her two daughters married return missionaries.  Sister Mano's youngest son, Brother Richard Mano is currently serving in the Dai Ichi Ward Bishopric.  Sister Mano has 28 grandchildren and had the privilege of seeing 15 go on missions around the world and at the present has a grandson in the Hawaii Mission and Sister Stephanie Mano (daughter of Brother and Sister R. Mano) serving in Japan Tokyo North Mission and at the present time serving in Nagano area and has the opportunity to attend the Winter Olympics on P-day.

Since the passing of her husband she has been on a full time mission to Japan Nagoya Mission under President Sato, Japan Kobe Mission under Pres. Matsumori and to the Tokyo Temple Mission.  She served in Salt Lake Temple for 20 years.  Held many positions in the Dai Ichi Ward and presently is in the Relief Society Presidency.  We love and admire her and elect her as our Valentine Sweetheart of 1998.
